POV-Ray - Animations

On this page we have placed some of the POV-ray animations of this game project. The gif examples below show some old player's character figures which are out of date now. The following video shows the current style of the figures. There is a female elf paladin, a dwarf paladin and a halfling male assassin. Those three walk and run in the video. All PC figures in this game look different for each race-class-gender combination (which are 40 at the moment) and you can see the weaponry each is carrying. In this example a halbert, axe and shield and a bow.

Animation Animation Animation
This is an example of an animated character figure used in the project. It is based on a simple human model which was extended and animated. Every single position had to be adapted by hand, which was quite a huge effort. The additional objects (helmet, sword and shield) may be exchanged by others arbitrarily.
CapeMage CapeMage CapeMage
This figure was additionally dressed using the POV-Ray extension ClothRay. The cape consists of three pieces of cloth, which were simulated to fall on the figure from above, laying themselves over it. The render time for this animation was about 3 hours. You can imagine the effort to render 144 frames of it :o)

This human skeleton uses the same animations as the fighter above. All parts of the body were replaced by the bones of the skeleton. It will be -most probably- the first enemy to fight in this game.
